NATURAL BLUE LIQUID WAX DYE

French Color & Fragrance · Nature's Palette

Supplied in a 15 ml bottle.

Dosage note: Nature's Palette natural dyes are used at 0.1–0.5% (1–5 g per kg of wax) – about ten times more than our highly concentrated ECO/REACH dyes (0.01–0.15%). Do not use the ECO/REACH dosage with these dyes.

Nature's Palette is the latest colour innovation from French Color & Fragrance, presented by the manufacturer as the industry's first naturally derived liquid colourant for candles. The dyes are 100% naturally derived from plants, fruits, vegetables and aquatic botanicals, with only three essential ingredients. The liquid format makes mixing into wax quick and even.

Colour

Blue – naturally derived from algae.

The six Nature's Palette shades (pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) can be blended to create pastels and in-between tones. They do not correspond to classic primary colours, so always test your blends.

Dosage

Measure by weight with a precision scale for accurate, repeatable results.

How to use

1. Shake the bottle well before each use.
2. Melt the wax completely, following the wax manufacturer's instructions.
3. Add the dye to the hot, fully melted wax, ideally before the fragrance oil.
4. Stir well and allow time for the colour to disperse evenly.
5. Check the shade on a small cooled sample and adjust gradually.
6. Add the fragrance oil and continue with your normal candle-making process.

The final colour settles after about 48 hours.

Colour Stability

Natural colourants are more light-sensitive than synthetic dyes. French Color & Fragrance recommends adding a small amount of UV stabiliser for optimal colour stability. Some fragrances, especially those high in vanillin, may shift the shade. Keep finished candles away from direct sunlight.

Technical Information

IMPORTANT

Wax type, fragrance oils, additives and dye concentration all influence the final colour and the burn. Always carry out a small-scale test and appropriate burn testing before commercial production.
